Glue Controller for Cardboard Carton Manufacturer

As announced in 2015, TestWorks Group acquired Polytronics Design, based in Emsworth, Hants. A requirement arose to develop a system capable of controlling glue guns that are used to print glue on the flaps of cardboard panels, prior to automatic folding on high speed cardboard box production lines. To achieve this requirement, a custom circuit board was designed that was capable of receiving all of the timing pulses created by the production machinery and generating the precisely timed signals required to operate the glue coating mechanisms. A PCB was developed and loaded with special control firmware which incorporated the timing algorithms, and was then incorporated into an enclosure. Systems were developed proving single and three-channel operation.
